December 2012 San Pedro la Laguna: | The people of San Pedro descend upon the town center with family and friends as the sun sets. Armed with enough fireworks and fire crackers to kick off World Wars III | IV-  the townsfolk socialize and party  as a progression of women and men haul an effigy of the Blessed Virgin Mary around the township in honor of the Immaculate Conception. These guys know how to throw a fiesta, and unlike my fellow travelers and expats staying by the dock,  the locals do it without the help of massive quantities of alcohol | psychedelics | all-night cocaine binges. Yum.
