~ I took this picture while heading down the side of Volcan San Pedro. When I say “heading”, I really mean running | sort of. My shoes weren’t exactly made for hiking or running up or down anything that wasn’t a church’s hardwood floor. The sun was setting faster than we expected, and the last thing any of us needed was to get stuck/lost in the darkening forest environment of the volcano. We’ve all seen/read Lord of the Flies; I’m not going down like that. We raced the sun, and in a moment of altitude-induced euphoria, I caught a glimpse of this beautiful mountain range in a section of clearing.
